The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is a national professional organization representing more than 71,000 members. Its goal is to foster advancements in physical therapy practice, research, and education.

A Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is an occupational therapist or physical therapist who has a minimum of five years of clinical experience, including 4,000 hours or more in direct practice in hand therapy.

ASHT is a professional organization comprised of licensed occupational and physical therapists, some of whom have earned the advanced designation, Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), and who specialize in the treatment & rehabilitation of the upper extremity.

The National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) is the professional membership association for certified athletic trainers and others who support the athletic training profession.
